Visiting us for general dental care will help you maintain your teeth and gums for years to come. Regular exams and cleanings prevent many problems and find others when they’re small and simple to treat. Your smile affects how you feel about yourself and how others see you. Taking care of it now saves time, money, and discomfort later.
Our team offers these general dental services:
Professional Cleanings and Exams – We remove stubborn buildup that your toothbrush misses at home. Our thorough checkups spot potential issues before they cause damage.
Oral Cancer Screenings – We examine your mouth tissues for any unusual changes during your regular visits. This simple step could save your life through early detection.
Cavity Detection – We use advanced technology to find decay hiding between teeth and under old fillings. Modern methods help us preserve more of your natural tooth structure.
Gum Disease Treatment – We stop gum infection from destroying the support system for your teeth. Healthy pink gums are essential for keeping your teeth strong and secure.
Custom Mouthguards – We create perfectly fitted guards to protect athletes, reduce nighttime grinding damage, and help keep your airway open while you sleep. Each guard addresses your specific needs for maximum effectiveness.
You can also get treatment for chronic conditions such as halitosis (bad breath) and dry mouth. If you have anxiety about dental care, ask about our sedation options.

Excellent, caring Dr. and staff. Everyone here has exceeded our expectations in patience and kindness while providing personalized care with exceptional skill. Dr. Spalito uses top of the line technology coupled with a gentle caring hand. He and his wonderful staff work hard to provide a pleasant and comfortable experience which make our trips to the dentist stress free. My 14 YO son, who has experienced previous horror stories from other dentist, no longer freaks out when it’s time for a visit. Dr. Spalito has worked to build a trusting relationship with both of my kids and has transformed our views of dentistry. I cannot say enough good things about this Dr, hygienists (Lisa you are awesome!!) and staff. They work as an amazing team and I would never bring my kids anywhere else for dental care.
I was looking for a dentist to help with my teeth grinding and came across West County Dental and Dr. Spalitto. I was impressed that I was able to get an appointment quickly and the staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. I will get my day/night guards in a week and am so excited to finally get relief. I definitely recommend West County Dental.
Dr. Pete and his staff are wonderful! I recommend if you’re looking for a dentist and you are reading this review you have found the office you want! Tanya and Debbie at the front desk are so helpful and sweet and Bri and Dr. Pete were so kind and didn’t judge me for not going to the dentist for years and they are helping me with a very painful situation! They gave me a plan for getting better and I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Thank you Dr Pete and team your simply the best!
I had my wisdom teeth taken out and it was absolutely excellent. Everyone there treats you like family, explains everything, making sure you are comfortable and all questions have been answered. This has been the best dental experience of my life!
Doctor Spalitto and his staff are the most professional and capable that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have recommended the team to my extended family for upcoming dental work. Save yourself the headache – this is a one-stop shop for all your dental needs – no need to go elsewhere for cosmetic vs emergency – they have the latest tech on-site including on-site 3D CT, instant X-Ray, dental milling machines, etc. Most dentists do not have these on-site, forcing you to have multiple appointments in multiple places, this is a huge plus for me and my family.
Dr Spallito has been our family doctor for many years. He is very knowledgeable, professional, kind, patient, and dedicated. All of the staff at the office is awesome!
Dr Pete and staff always take good care of me (I am so afraid of dental work), but this time he used the laser and was able to treat several areas completely pain free and numbing medicine free!! It is a game changer for me, and I so appreciate this technology along with his skill and care. Thank you!!!
We have used Dr. Pete’s office for over 8 years. We are always impressed with the atmosphere and courtesy we experience while there. Their office is a well run business and could not be more pleased with the services they offer.
The entire team at West County Dental are great! Very professional and courteous. Dr. Pete is thorough and takes time to discuss my dental health plan. They really care about your comfort level and are quick to answer any questions and/or concerns. Highly recommended!
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Spalitto and his staff. I had an emergency and couldn’t get in with my regular dentist, and without hesitation they stepped up and said come on over we can certainly see you and help. It is refreshing to have a dentist who really cares about patient’s and their comfort. The entire staff was very professional and I felt blessed to have been referred to him by a friend.
Common Questions About General Dentistry
What is general dentistry? +–
Daily oral hygiene is essential to keeping your mouth clean and healthy. But as important as brushing and flossing are, they aren’t enough on their own to protect your teeth and gums. General dentistry covers a wide range of treatments designed to help you prevent and detect dental problems, so you can keep your oral health on track.
Can I prevent cavities? +–
Brushing with a toothpaste that contains fluoride at least two times a day is essential in preventing cavities, as is daily flossing. Limiting the amount of sugary or highly acidic foods in your diet is also helpful. If you’re unable to brush after meals, rinsing out your mouth with water is a good way to help wash away the food debris and bacteria that cause cavities. Ask your dental team about fluoride and sealants, two treatments that can make your teeth less cavity-prone.
Do I need dental X-rays? +–
The need for dental X-rays depends on your individual oral health and treatment requirements. X-rays provide valuable information that helps us detect cavities, assess bone health, and identify potential issues that may not be visible to the naked eye. We will evaluate your specific situation and recommend X-rays if necessary, ensuring that they are used judiciously and with your safety in mind.
