Orthodontics is a wonderful field. It helps a lot of people out. It starts out as a young kid and identifying why they’re younger, if that’s gonna be a problem growing up and trying to intervene.
We do like intervention orthodontics, which is starting out with whether it’s expanders or appliances that kind of move baby teeth or even a mixed dentition, meaning baby teeth and permanent teeth, so that when when you get to high school you’re not in braces for all four years. That’s what I tried. That’s what I have a passion for.
I also love helping out adults that I never could afford, you know, our parents couldn’t afford it when I was growing up, but I want to do that now. Well, you don’t have to do braces anymore all the time. Sometimes we do, but a lot of times a lot of it can be done with clear aligners, whether it’s Invisalign or SureSmile.
Those are systems that are very easy to work with with folks to help them, you know, achieve their aesthetic goal or function goal, and it’s about functional dentistry also. When teeth don’t align just right, it’s not about the smile. It’s always about getting the line up to where they don’t crack their teeth, and that’s a real big part of it, too.
